Description

The Bronze Age is back and is called Predator Heritage

2018 marks the 20th year of the Maison Memphis Belle which for this remarkable goal launches the model destined to leave an indelible mark of its presence in the panorama of professional military watchmaking.
Our Heritage commemorates the first operating clock model we made, named Predator;
in this new Limited Edition version is made of CuSn8 marine bronze.

It is dedicated to the Tenth Flotilla Mas and bears the mythical skull with the rose in its mouth on the dial.

The “Decima Flottiglia Mas” was born at the beginning of the Second World War as a secret department of the Royal Navy for the use of new underwater and surface assault vehicles, which had been difficult to develop at the end of the 1930s.

Between 1941 and 1943 the few hundred men who were part of it, operated in high-risk missions, obtaining, albeit at a high price, successes such as to modify even the strategic naval structure of the Mediterranean.

The charm of bronze applied to the unparalleled appeal of military watches is the surprising new trend in the luxury watch market.

Ancient material like the history of mankind, bronze is a corrosion-resistant metal alloy, which naturally develops a unique patina over time and is used extensively in the construction of ships, to manufacture portholes, bells, metal seals and nautical instruments.

Until recently it had never been directly connected to the industry of the time.

Of difficult processing, having this beautiful and changeable alloy made of copper and tin on the wrist, or aluminum, nickel or beryllium, which can have different colors, is a refinement for connoisseurs. The use of bronze enhances the nautical appearance of the watch and the different shades of color that are created according to the conditions of use, make each piece a unique piece. Memphis Belle in its Predator Heritage wanted to further raise the bar, giving the customer the opportunity to choose three degrees of finish of the case:

1: new satin case, which naturally ages as a result of use.
2: case with vintage patina, which has the effect of five years of use with first degrees of oxidation.
3: case with super vintage patina, which has the effect of fifty years of use with a diffused blue oxidation of bronze.

A completely studied and handcrafted production inside the maison.
